We are delighted to present our inaugural auction of Islamic & Indian Art on 12 June 2024, led by our consultant specialist, Kristina Sanne, one of the foremost Islamic Art specialists in the UK
With viewing in the heart of London in our Connaught St gallery and a highlights preview at the Mall Galleries, our live online auction features property from an important private collection of Indian miniatures and Islamic works of Art. Highlights include a monumental Safavid blue and white pottery Dish that once belonged to Arthur Lane (1909-1963) the celebrated scholar and former keeper of Islamic ceramics at the Victoria & Albert Museum; a striking 18th Century illustration to the Satsai of Bihari depicting a pair of lovers in a garden (detail illustrated); and, a portrait of Raja Suraj Mal of Nurpur holding a hawk dated to circa 1770-90, from the Punjab Hills.
