AFTER DARK/SPRING

Our AFTER DARK/SPRING catalog sees important pioneers of queer academia, scholarship, and art juxtaposed with forgotten figures of the most prominent gay subcultures of the 20th century. Leather-bound books of 19th century love poetry by Kertbeny contrast with the leather-bound hunks of REX and The Hun's self published zines. Paul Cadmus' and Jean Cocteau's drawings loom large alongside other lesser known figurative masters of homoeroticism. Explore the breadth of queer history, from stories of resistance in the early pages of the Advocate, extraordinarily rare original Magnus Hirschfeld journals to rare print ephemera from San Francisco's Catacombs and other culturally important 1970s leather bars and clubs.
AFTER DARK illuminates the quietest corners and loudest soirees of LGBT history. You're invited to the live auction broadcast on May 22nd, 7:30PM EST.
