Day 1 of 3 - Silver, furniture, accessories, porcelains both Chinese export and European, prints. Day 2 of 3- Arms, armor, military, Native American, Civil War, historical, political, nautical including scrimshaw, ship models, ship portraits and naval. Day 3 of 3 – Fine art, bronzes, jewelry, Chinese glass, art glass, leaded glass shades Our 5th Annual Palm Beach Auction, Hilton Hotel & Conference Center, 150 Australian Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33406. Three days, approximately 500 lots per day/1500 lots total. Some highlights include - The largest, unreserved and likely finest collection of WWI and WWII posters. Numbering 530, they were collected from shortly after WWI until the late 1980's by one person. Split into three days, this collection will be offered in the beginning of each session. Over 100 pieces of Chinese export porcelain. 18th century shelf clock with faux painted tortoise under gilt decoration in the Chinoiserie style. The face bears the maker's name, Thomas Swannell, London. A portrait, thought by some to be the earliest of George Washington, executed in 1759 and pictured in the book "Portraits of George Washington" by Eisen, published 1932. An exceptional photograph of Chief Standing Elk by Carl Moon measuring 17 x 11" in the original frame, backing and mat stamped Sante Fe Railway. Used as a decoration in the Alvarado and Fred Harvey Co. hotel, museum and gift shop to spur sales to tourists in the early 20th century. Several good, Native American effigy pipes. A Moro wars cast brass cannon 49" long and an exceptional Moro sword having braided silver wire with a rhinoceros horn grip. Furniture from the 18th through early 20th century, plus 125 paintings and several near mint condition Colt pistols, two extraordinary 5th century BCE Scythian pieces, a gold scabbard decoration and near complete gilded bronze belt collected by the consignor's grandfather in the 1930's.
