Our bi-monthly Antiques & Fine Art sale contains a good mix across many areas of collecting,. The sale commences with a privately-consigned single-owner collection of over twenty paperweights to include Clichy, Baccarat and St. Louis. Our ceramics section includes a rare Turner of Castleford stoneware part tea service, a Michael Cardew cider flagon, Worcester porcelain to include fruit-painted wares and a large figural lamp, plus perennials such as Staffordshire, Moorcroft, Doulton (including a rare Tinworth mouse) and Royal Dux. A large and varied section of collector’s items include everything from Roman micromosaic paperweights to a stag’s head! Also included are large sections of pens (to include many gold, Mont Blanc, Cartier etc), cameras, telescopes (to include fine examples by Meade and Celestron) etc. The textiles section includes a number of tapestries, curtains, upholstery etc suitable for the interior designer. This is followed by a Paintings section with a wide variety of works from the 18th-20th centuries. Highlights include an Eve Arnold photograph of Marilyn Monroe, caricatures of Liza Minnelli, Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin etc by the American artists Sam Norkin and Al Hirschfeld, two 18th century portraits, and a fine large landscape by J B Pyne.
