Join us for the Southold Historical Society's annual auction of fine art on Saturday, April 26, 2014. The auction will take place at Castello di Borghese Vineyard, located at 17150 County Road 48, Cutchogue, NY, 11935. Preview begins at 6pm, with the auction beginning at 7pm. There is a $10 entry fee, which includes complimentary food and wine. Payment terms: Cash, pre-approved check, Visa, and Mastercard. In addition to works by living artists, which will include John Crimmins, Laura Westlake, Dominick DiLorenzo, Jada Rowland, Lee Cleary, and Barbara Zegarek, there will be a number of works by painters of our recent past. Some of the featured items include landscape and seascape paintings by Caroline M. Bell, Whitney M. Hubbard, Albert Latham, Otto J. Kurth, and Franklin G. Brooks. Other artists whose works will be offered for sale worked in a more modernist vane, and include award winning color field and abstract painter Sherron Francis and the late, noted painter and printmaker, Lowell Nesbitt.
