The May 19 session offers IMPORTANT ENGLISH AND CONTINENTAL FURNITURE AND DECORATIONS, Georgian silver, porcelain, sculpture, clocks, chandeliers, sconces, rugs and tapestries. Highlights include a Louis XV gilt-bronze mounted kingwood bureau plat stamped Migeon and a Louis XVI brass mounted walnut and kingwood console desserte stamped J. Stoeckle, as well as several exquisite English and Continental mirrors, and a private collection of Biedermeier furniture, decorations and glass. The silver section features a pair of George III covered entree dishes by Paul Storr, London, circa 1810-11. OLD MASTER PAINTINGS AND DRAWINGS will offer numerous landscapes, still lifes, portraits and religious subjects by European artists from the Renaissance to circa 1800. Highlights include a large oil on panel after Andrea del Sarto's The Porta Pinti Madonna, as well as works by Henri Francois Mulard; Angelo di Cosimo Allori, Il Bronzino and Studio; and many others. Notable among the Old Master Drawings is a chalk rendering by Jean-Baptiste Oudry of a bear. ASIAN WORKS OF ART include porcelain from the collection of noted collector Jakob Goldschmidt; a private collection of blue and white porcelain from the Kangxi period; and a group of Japanese netsuke from a private foundation. There is also a selection of fine Chinese Export and armorial porcelain.
