An important sale: A fine collection of Japanese Arms and Armour featuring two Samurai full armours, an important kabuto and an extraordinary, luxury matchlock teppo with Tokugawa mon. A huge collection of volumes on Japanese arms and culture. An exceptional selection of Oriental Arms featuring a beautiful yatagan decorated with stones, two Moghul Indian kandshars enriched with gold, rubies and emeralds. Beautiful headgears including an extremely scarce 1828-32 model grenadier fur helmet of the 4th Swiss Regiment. A fine selection of edged weapons, among them: a saber from the personal property of King Francis II, for Honour Colonel of the Hussars Guard and a lot of nine quality sample blades by Bleckmann for the King of Italy and the General Staff. A fine group of interesting European and Oriental powder-flasks. Beautiful armour and parts of armour featuring an Italian round shield, an exceptional helmet from the ?Garde du Corps? of Louis XIII of France, a black and white full armour (Germany) and an important breast- and back-plate with Medici coat of arms. A fine group of small-swords including an exceptional, gold-hilted small-sword enriched with diamonds, given to Cardinal Ruffo of Calabria.
