Rare Asian Art

One of the highlights in this auction is a Wucai plate with Immortals, Wanli Mark & Period. Its characteristic colorful décor and its flawless condition will appeal to collectors worldwide. Yet another unique jewel in this sale are the impressive 19th century Mogul Pietra Dura Marble Fountain, which once presumably decorated the palace of an Indian Maharadscha, and a carved cinnabar lacquer circular box with scholars from the Ming Dynasty. Sinotibetan gilt bronze figures from China?s Golden Age, the Qianlong period (1736-1795), further emphasize this auction?s premium selection. Due to its intensive colors, the Wucai-plate is an eye-catcher among the many high quality porcelain pieces on offer in this auction. The border?s symbols for longevity highlight the cultural value of this artistic jewel. Furthermore, bidders can look forward to a gilt bronze figure of the Buddhist deity Ushnishavijaya, with a cast seven-character Qianlong mark. Fine paintings and exotic handicrafts such as hornbill-carvings complete the distinguished selection of this auction.
