DENNIS MEMORIAL LIBRARY FINE ART & AMERICANA
Dr. Frederick S. Dennis was an instrumental figure in bringing antiseptic methods used in modern surgery to America in the 19thC. He was also a great collector of Fine Art & Antiques. Through an Estate gift in 1938, in memory of his father, a long time Newton, NJ resident, he secured the Georgian Revival brick building that became Newton's "Dennis Memorial Library" and the resting place for his personal collection of Art, Antiques & Books. These important unreserved items which were housed on the upper floors of the library and not accessible to library patrons (as fresh as "fresh" can be) will be offered in this Auction along with significant Americana from the estate of a nonagenarian Amherst, MA couple; exceptional period furniture from a North Shore MA estate and PART II of the unreserved Stuart Magdefrau estate focusing on, but not limited to, his vast ceramic collection. (There is twice as much Magdefrau merchandise in this sale as there was in Part I)- A phenomenal Auction with the most important Fine Art in Stanton's 35 year history plus outstanding Antiques in countless categories! Well over 500 lots! Plan to Spend the Day & DON'T MISS THIS ONE!!!
