Gramercy Park Estate Treasures and More
Hudson Valley Auctioneers will open the fall with a two session multi estate auction Monday, September 28th in our 432 Main Street Beacon, New York gallery.
The sale includes a Gramercy Park mansion estate held in storage for years as well as several partial contents from Dutchess and Westchester Counties and points beyond.
Session 1 begins at 5:00 PM and is Liveauctioneer.com enabled. Asian items start the sale followed by excellent collection Continental furniture, decorative accessories and art. Select pieces of fine Meissen from an old Dutchess County collection will be offered in the first session with the balance of the collection offered in the second session.
Other highlights include a model A Steinway grand piano, three pieces of birds eye maple faux bamboo including a monumental mirrored dresser and a rare and exceptional Meeks sofa. Mid Century items are led by a rare Philip Kelvin Laverne coffee table with figural aluminum supports.
A rosewood living room suite by Percival Lafer and a table and 4 Falcon chairs by Sigurd Resell are offered along with a rosewood Eames chair and ottoman, Saarinen table and chairs, Dellarobbia sofa and other classics.
Several examples of 19th century French bronze including a large pair of candelabra and a patinated pair of putti on a rouge marble base. Several clocks will be offered: a Newton and Co. 18th century bracket clock, a Gothic brass clock by Delaunoy and an exceptional bronze and marble three piece clock set.
Art includes a Heffner impressionist scene, three portraits by Fried Pal, a portrait of Miss Fanny Kemble after Sir Thomas Lawrence P.R.A. and several others.
The 6:30 pm session is limited to in house, absentee and phone bids only. Palace size estate carpets start it off followed by silver flatware and hollowware, estate jewelry, large lots of estate fresh costume jewelry, fine china and glass, oils by Paul Franklin, furniture decorations and last minute additions.
