The Andelson Collection of Santos Figures & Other Fine Decorative Arts

Metropolitan Galleries is honored to offer the Mr. & Mrs. Lester M. Andelson Collection of over one hundred santos figures to the public at auction. This collection is one of the largest of Hispano-Philippine santos in America of popular religious images from the colonial period of the Philippines. This historic collection was exhibited at the Allen Memorial Art Museum, Oberlin College and is documented in "Philippine Religious Imagery" by Fernando Zobel de Ayala. The collection consist of outstanding works carved in wood and ivory, paintings and triptychs.
