We are openly inviting you to take part in this historical auction. As we start into our third year of business, providing you with the very finest documented rare Chinese antiquities along with heritage American and European antiques, this upcoming auction will without a doubt be our finest offering to date. The highlight of this auction will be the magnificent a George III ormolu-mounted tortoiseshell-veneered automated quarter striking organ table clock. This exceptionally rare table clock was created by Henry Borrell working for Marwick Markham London circa 1780. This stunning clock is headed by a sunburst finial with ten tune selection enamel dial, the arched brass dial plate with champlevé enamel decoration overall, the enamel dial with Ottoman chapters, pierced gilt hands and signed MARKWICK MARKHAM/ BORRELL/LONDON. This magnificent piece comes from the estate of the famed film director Adolphe Osso who acquired this amazing table clock in 1925 and it remained in his possession in his Grand Villa in Le Vésinet Le grand lac until the sale of the villa in 1933, This clock being a treasured piece and remained in the family until it was auctioned off at Christie's in Paris. The purchaser of this clock has chosen Eden Fine Antiques Gallery to bring this amazing clock back to auction once again.
