On Sunday September 18, 2016 at 10AM, Abell Auction Co. will present an important Fine Art, Antique, & Fine Jewelry Sale offering over 600 items including the estate of the late American author Gore Vidal. The extensive sale will feature items from the former homes of Vidal and his partner Howard Austen: "La Rondinaia" in Ravello Italy and their home in Hollywood, CA. Both properties were featured in Architectural Digest and frequented by royalty, Broadway & Hollywood writers and actors, important literary figures and politicians. These items include English & Italian furniture & furnishings, Old Master paintings, Gore Vidal's personal library, awards, & recognitions. In addition, Abell is offering the estate of Louis and Annette Kaufman. Mr. Kaufman was one of the most recorded violinists of the 20th Century, and his wife, a gifted pianist, often accompanied him. In addition, Abell is offering paintings from the estate of television legends Steve Allen & Jayne Meadows.
