Prehistoric and Historic Artifact Auction

We are pleased to introduce the Dr. Joe Otten Artifact Collection. Joe collected for decades before retiring from his practice in Batavia, NY. This auction will also contain a nice variety of artifacts from the Kevin Pipes Collection. A very fine grouping of relics from the Clem Caldwell and Chalmer Lynch Collections round out this varied auction. There are 11 Birdstones, 7 being from the Earl Townsend Collection. This flock contains the 9 inch plus Millersburg Birdstone and the Topknot Birdstone. We will also be selling a group of Duck River Artifacts once in the Dr. Cushman Collection, the 6 piece Adena Blade Cache known as the Bennett Young Cache and a group of fine Clovis points from the Buddy Scheidegger Collection. This sale includes a fine Quartz Curved Pick Bannerstone and a large Hardstone Tube Pipe that once graced Clem Caldwell's shelf. There are 15 fine Bannerstones in this auction. Joe Otten's relics include some of the finest midwestern Early Archaic points; Decaturs, Hardins, Dovetails. You'll also see some nice Texas relics along with several top shelf Etleys. Many of the artifacts have been pictured in books and journals dating back to the 1930's. 200 of the artifacts being offered have independent certificates of authenticity from the country's finest authenticators. Wonderful variety. Something for everyone.
