Illustrated hard boards [a little wear and soiling]; 8" x 9.3/4"; 32 pages, fully illustrated, a little soiling and wear, very good condition.

Stein tells about the Japanese attack of the battleship USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor which led to the USA entering the WWII.

The "Cornerstones of Freedom" detail important events in United States history. Children are given the sense of being witnesses to history-in-the-making and contemporaries of famous people who helped shape the United States into the world power it is today.

Thomas Walter Dunnington (1928-2013) was an artist, illustrator of children books, youth worker, and leader in the Unitarian Universalism.
