Very large unsiex ring made of sterling. it is appx. 1.5" down the finger and 1-1/8" across the finger and sits up appx. 5/8". This ring is up for interpretatin. I see a human stretched out over the front of the ring that looks somewhat like it is clinging to a cliff but there are two rounded cut-outs on one side that makes it look like a puzzle piece - it is an abstact ring that I think has a meaning. Perhaps a piece of the puzzle - who knows. It is signed MJH 925 and another mark and U7. It has some oxidaton but especially on a piece such as this, I will not change it by cleaning. Matti J. Hyvarien wsa a Finiish silver artist. He started in his father's shop in Turku, Finland in 1953 and eventually moved on to another Company, Salovarra and then opened his own shop. This has a split band at the back which is appx. 4.8mm wide at top and tapers to 4.3mm at the back where it has a bypass split design to make it adjustable. It was tested and does test as sterling with a weight of appx. 21.41 gr. Very good condition and I did not see another one like it - saw many of this artist's pieces but very few duplicates.
