Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty Daoguang Famille Rose Carp Porcelain Bowls. The porcelain potted with a shallow body, slight deep, thick, flaring rim with angled cavetto elevated the steep sides upward the close mouth rim, raised on ring foot base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white color which contrast against famille rose design color, depicted of many carp swims over water plants, and flowers. The Carp Similar sounding to the word Business in Chinese, the carp symbolizes a wish for benefit or advantage in business, and accepted to represent longevity, wealth, abundance, and perseverance. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed red script characters reign mark. Made in The Years Daoguang Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
