This is an exceedingly rare volume of a great American statesman Henry Clay (1777-1852) who represented Kentucky in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. He was the 7th House Speaker as well as the 9th Secretary of State, and assisted in founding both the National Republican Party and the Whig Party.
Two Volumes, illustrations, portraits, 10 inches. 605pp; 600pp. Early cloth binding with central monument design in the center, embossed design in relief. Engraved title-page illustration and full-page engraved frontispiece, in each volume.

2 volumes bound in dark brown cloth decorated with a gold monument to Henry Clay, edges are worn, cloth age-dulled and worn. Spine is worn at top/bottomandedges with age.
