A Robert Garrard II Gilt Silver Covered Bowl and Stand, London, 1849 Marks: (lion passant), (leopard's head), (duty mark), O, (RG under a crown) 5-1/2 x 8-5/8 inches (14.0 x 21.9 cm) (overall) 1002 grams (32.21 troy ounces) PROVENANCE: Sotheby's, London, Property from the Royal House of Hanover, October 15, 2005, lot 2670. The covered bowl and stand each engraved with monogram, probably that of Princess Mary of Hanover (1849-1904), born 3 December 1849, or of her mother Crown Princess Mary, wife of the future George V of Hanover. Condition
The covered bowl and stand present well overall. Slight dent to monogram on one side of bowl. Light rubbing to gilt finish throughout. Scattered fine surface abrasions as expected with polishing and some handling.
