Description
John (Jack) Marshall, American, 1932-2009, Triangular brass and textured cast iron spider leg form sculptures, Triangular bears impressed monogram,date,1968 and initials. Spider leg form, unsigned. Biography: John “Jack” Marshall (1932-2009) Massachusetts native, graduate of Massachusetts College of Art, Boston University and Yale University School of Architecture. He was the recipient of many awards and shows both in the U.S. and Europe. He was a college teacher at the Yale School of Art/Architecture, New School of Social Research and Manhattanville College. He was a director and tenured professor emeritus at Keene State College. Jack had an art studio in both Keene, New Hampshire and Carrara, Italy. Jack’s artwork medium was primarily ink on paper, printmaking, metal sculpture and oil painting.
