Description
Japanese. 1950s. Tinplate, celluloid. This friction car was a collaboration between Linemar and the Kuramochi toy company, who were interested in capitalizing on the public's obsession with science fiction and toys of the future. Linemar was a trade name used by Marx Toys for toys manufactured in Japan (to keep costs down) and then sold in the U.S. and other countries. Driver is made of celluloid. Marked, "Line Mar", on wheels. Marked, "Line Mar Toys", on underside. 2.5" x 5.5" x 12".
Condition
Overall good condition. One minor impression to the fender above the passenger side headlight. Minor scratches and surface wear. Clear dome canopy not present.
