Early 3rd century B.C. Tall and with a narrow base, two sturdy ribbed strap handles and a conical neck with a stepped profile; restored. Cf. example from Dura Europos in the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World, New York, under ref. Middle Roman Amphora 7. 7.8 kg, 69 cm (27 1/4 in.).
