Monumental Set of (12) "Man of The Mountain" Style Mahogany Dinning Chairs. Upper crest of the chairs are carved with foliage, flowers, acanthus leaves and acanthus carved spindle handle. Just below the back cushion are two pierced winged griffins. The carved Mountain Man figures on this set are very similar to R. J. Horner's "Man of The Mountain." We were not able to confirm this set to be Horner. Chairs are covered in a light-blue cut velvet upholstery. This upholstery has fading, soiling, etc. and will need to be replaced. (2) Armchairs: 44 1/4" high X 26" wide X 28" deep. (10) Side chairs: 46 1/2" high X 20" wide X 22 1/4" deep. Condition - Four of the claw feet have been repaired with high strength epoxy. Chairs have old finish with some wear and losses. Upholstery has fading, soiling, etc. and will need to be replaced. See photos.
