Chen Peiqiu, nickname is Jianbi, she was the wife of the famous painter Xie Zhiliu. Chen herself is also a well-known painter; she is good at painting flowers, birds and landscape. The couple's artistry is impressive in the art world. This painting, perhaps was an earlier work by Chen, depicting a pine-branch & kingfisher. Pine strips hang down and a kingfisher stands on a pine branch. The colour of this painting is single, although there are only pine branches and kingfisher, but it is very elegant.
