A nicely done rockingham glazed stoneware pitcher most certainly made about the time of the 1876 Centennial Celebration, our nations 100th anniversary. Decorated on both sides with an American Bald Eagle atop the Liberty Bell. The mouth/spout of the pitcher features the image of a Bat, a symbol of good luck, good health & prosperity in that era. Pitcher is 9" in height, good condition, possible NJ origins
