INSPECTED US COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 45, S# 50591. Standard configuration, 7.5" barrel, one line Hartford address, blue & case colored finish all professionally restored, fire blued trigger. Henry Nettleton "NH" inspection marks stamped on bottom of frame, trigger guard, barrel, and cylinder. Nettleton cartouche on the left grip below "1878" stamped date, sub inspector cartouche on opposite grip "JEG" for John Greer. Colt factory letter shows delivery to U.S. Inspector at the Colt Plant on September 18, 1878 in a shipment of 150 revolvers. CONDITION: extremely fine as refinished. Revolver retains virtually all its bright blue and case colored finish. Markings in metal are all crisp and well defined as professionally restored. Grips are crisp & well fit with well discerned cartouches. Mechanically fine with bright shiny rifled bore. (01-25272/JS). ANTIQUE. $4,000-6,000.
