Description
These original antique prints of 1. Cuvier's Whale & Sowerby's Whale and 2. Narwhal & White Whale are from British Mammals by Archibald Thorburn. Published by Longmans, Green and Co. 39 Paternoster Row, London, 1920. These chromolithographs are after paintings by the Scottish artist Archibald Thorburn and are on heavy stock paper. Thorburn was one of the most prolific and respected illustrators of the natural world at the end of the 19th and turn of the 20th century. Size: 12.5in x 10in (31.5cm x 25.3cm)
