SOULE, William S. (1836-1908), photographer. A group of 6 albumen photographs featuring Native American subjects. Ca late 1860s-1870s.

6 albumen photographs, uncredited, but originally taken by William P. Soule, including the following:

4 albumen photographs, each approx. 5 3/4 x 4 1/4 in., or slightly smaller, on paper mount. Subjects include Heap Wolves, or Esadowa, killed by Osages in 1873 while hunting buffalo. -- One of Satanta's sons. -- Unidentified Native American posing atop a number of skins. -- Unidentified Native American seated in a studio, wearing a feathered headdress and holding a bow and arrows.

[With:] 5 1/8 x 4 in. albumen photograph, unmounted, showing Arapahoe subject, "Little Big Mouth" and lodge. -- 6 3/4 x 8 5/8 in. albumen photograph on paper mount, showing an unidentified camp scene.

Together, 6 albumen photographs. Condition generally good, with varying degrees of toning, some with scattered spotting throughout.
