Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Jamacoaque (Jama Coaque) culture, ca. 500 BCE to 500 CE. A hand-built pottery face mask of petite size bearing deep-set, green-painted eyes, exaggerated cheek bones and brow lines, a prominent nose, and perky ears, all covered in red and orange pigment. Size: 1.7" L x 4.5" W x 4.25" H (4.3 cm x 11.4 cm x 10.8 cm)

Condition
Professional repair and restoration, with resurfacing and overpainting along new material and break lines. Abrasions and fading to original pigment, with scattered earthen deposits, otherwise in nice condition. Good preservation to facial features.
