Description
Cambodia or northern Thailand, 13th century CE. Khmer Period. Group of 5 Khmer bronze objects consisting of a spindle-shaped lime container - used to ingest ground lime powder thereby intensifying the effects of opium ingestion; bronze cup, two bronze caps (each probably the lid to lime containers, and a bronze finial - nicely decorated. The bronze cup is quite unusual with machine decorated incised rim. Size of lime container: 4.75" H (12.1 cm)
