A Japanese bronze tripod censer, dating from the Meiji period. Set over three beast feet the body expands wider to a high shoulder then tapers to a wide mouth with thick flat rim. Body is decorated with raised bronze design with multiple birds on flowering branches. large chrysanthemum mark incised underside
