Fine Hubertus Solingen forestry style hunting knife, mid-20th century. This pattern is shown in the 1950’s Hubertus catalog as #722. Hubertus produced fine cutlery of traditional to antique patterns even including 16th century boar spears! This example is of the 19th century Forestry Knives popular with hunters and standardized as a military dagger. It has a white metal hilt with stag antler grip and beautiful 10 ¼” flattened diamond section blade etched and pigmented with a three deer forest scene. Original leather scabbard with slight wear only.
