Early 1800s American Oil Painting Portraits w/ Identified Sitters - unknown artist, Sitters Dr. John (b1760 -d1842) and Mrs. Elizabeth (Smith) Miller, (b1760-d1832), Dr. Miller was an early settler of Plattsburgh, also a farmer during the Revolutionary War and horseback traveling physician. Documents - A biographical copy (Find a Grave Memorial) of Dr. Miller along with the last owner's invoice of when portraits were purchased in 2016 for $2,750 are included with the portraits. Portraits show Dr. Miller wearing a black frock coat holding an envelope with his name on it, Mrs. Miller dressed in black dress and wearing a lace bonnet, later frames measure 35" W x 40 1/2" H.
