Description
2 sets of polychrome glazed miniature clay figures, Chinese, Qing Dynasty, likely late 19th century. 126 pieces in total. Depicting wedding processions. Included are two Palanquins with 8 bearers each, musicians, flag bearers, and lantern bearers. Each figure was carefully hand sculpted from red clay and hand painted. Wire elements support each figure and are used to make up components of instruments, flags, and hand painted glass lanterns. Apparently unsigned. Height of figures vary from 2 inches to 5 inches.
Condition
One broken in half, 3-4 with broken legs (one leg is available), some missing small portions and components. Some with chipped enamel.
