Description
North America, United States, Civil War Period, ca. 1861 to 1865 CE, made by Schnitzler & Kirschbaum. A steel bayonet blade made for the Spencer Navy Rifle M1863. The weapon presents with a shallow fuller extending out from a pair of quillons - one of which allows the blade to be affixed to a rifle - and a brass handle with an iron release trigger on one side. Maker's marks are stamped on each side of the shoulder. Size: 28.75" L x 1.125" W x 4.375" H (73 cm x 2.9 cm x 11.1 cm)
