A stunning oil painting by Albert Stokes Bancroft depicting an autumn woodland comprised of dozens of towering aspen trees rising high above a leaf-covered ground, all rendered in liberal strokes with thick impasto in areas. Bright hues of marigold and spring green are contrasted by shadowy areas of deep violet and indigo, as well as touches of forest green that suggest the presence of a pine in the distance and an azure-colored sky that peaks through the dense tress.
