American Leather Covered Decorated Chest Lock Box

Well crafted Leather Covered Wooden Chest or Lock Box that measures about 15" x 9" x 9" with a good amount of internal volume for storage. No place, date, or maker. The top lid and all four sides have an elaborate designs of period brass tack decorations which appear to be completely intact as made, along with a decorative brass handle at top center. There is no liner interior liner only raw wood, overall, its leather flap along lid and sides is worn from use and wrinkled with age. There is an original brass lock at front center, lacking a key, but is not locked and opens with ease. This sturdy decorative piece is possibly from the mid-Atlantic Colonies and is of good size for display.
