Block Printed Bed Cover, Uzbekistan, Late 19th/Early 20th C., 6'1'' x 4'3'' (185 x 130 cm). This style of Uzbek hand block textile, known as "chitgarlik," uses intricate wood blocks called "kalybs" to apply patterns with natural dyes from plants and minerals. These patterns are unique Uzbek drawing designs of the suzani and not to be confused with Indian prints. Ex. Elena Touceda Goff estate.
