Casey Stengel is one of the most colorful and successful figures in baseball history, known as much for his unique "Stengelese" way of speaking as for his tactical brilliance.
Yankee Dynasty: As manager of the New York Yankees (1949–1960), he led the team to ten pennants and seven World Series championships, including a record-breaking five consecutive titles from 1949 to 1953.
The "Amazing" Mets: In 1962, he became the first manager of the expansion New York Mets. Despite their early struggles, he helped establish the team's identity and famously dubbed them the "Amazing Mets".
Hall of Fame: He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1966.
Longevity: Stengel is the only person to have worn the uniform of all four major New York teams: the Giants and Dodgers (as a player) and the Yankees and Mets (as a manager)
