652. Collection of six beer stein puppets from Utica Club Beer commercials. Another famous series of long-run commercials run in the New York area was for Utica Club Beer, extolling their virtues of natural bubbles. The main "spokes-mugs" were "Schmidt", a German expert on brewing, and his pal "Dooley", an Irish patron of the suds. They had many encounters and adventures including run-ins with the law and trips to the moon. This lot represents nearly the entire cast and are constructed from real beer steins which have been modified with aluminum spring-loaded control rods and sturdy wire fittings to actuate the lids for the speaking segments. Included are: Schultz, Dooley (Lucky), The Law: Policeman w/ heads, Duchess, Uncle Rudolf and Emma. They exhibit some wear; otherwise, very good condition.
