716. Jack Palance robe and red dress from Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. (NBC-TV, 1979) This futuristic robe constructed of a heavy white satin with wide shoulder pieces, bright purple satin trimming square neck and lining the flared double sleeves, worn by the Jack Palance as the mutant "Kaleel" throughout the two-part episode "Planet of the Slave Girls". Together with a red satin and tulle dress with iridescent organza overlay and red ribbon trim was worn by a background character notably during the sequence where the Directorate throws a formal dance in honor of the nefarious Princess Ardala. The gown was worn by one of the formal choreographed dancers attending the ball, and bears an internal label handwritten "Janice Morgan" which may be the name of the actress who wore it in the production. A wonderful group of original costumes from this popular sci-fi series.
