790. Lancer tunic, pants and helmet from Charge of the Light Brigade. (Warner Bros., 1936) Complete dress uniform for one of the British Army 27th Lancers for the film starring Errol Flynn in one of his most memorable roles. Elaborate dress tunic of lined wool felt with 14 chrome button parade chest front, 3 chrome button sleeve ends, and tails with 6 chrome buttons; long wide-striped pants of unlined wool; and dress riding/battle helmet fashioned with felt and elastic from a British Bobby's cap. Tunic bears Western Costume Co. internal label, printed "No. 173" and "Size 38"; pants exhibit Western Costume Co.'s internal stamps and label printed what appears to be "EF" and "59"; helmet has only a simple cloth tag inside with "41" printed on. Generally Very Fine throughout, costume has seen very little wear or use, helmet shows paint flecking and crakalure, and evidence of a badge removal at front.
