Early Rock Island Switch Key Tapered Barrel

A tapered barrel brass switch key made for the Chicago Rock Island & Pacific Railroad. It has an "S" for switch. The reverse is blank.

This could be Norfolk & Western or Norwich & Worcester. It's from a New England collection that had other early keys so I am leaning on Norwich & Worcester. If you live in Virginia?.. Go with Norfolk

A fine key that is early with a tapered barrel. No mistaking what line this is. It has CENT IOWA RR and an "S" on the front. The reverse has a serial number of just "21". A nice early key.
