Untitled 2001 is a oil and pastel drawing on paper, by Jim Dine in 2001, measuring 108 x 74,5 cm; 42.5x 29.31 in. It is signed (in what looks like Black pastel) over the top of the drawing, in the Centre bottom left. The signature is quite faint. The heart has been a central subject throughout Jim Dine’s artistic career and is a recurring feature in his paintings, drawings, sculptures and graphic art. His use of this universal, uncomplicated symbol enables both himself and the viewer to apply their own emotions and ideas to the form. The heart becomes a blank page that can be filled with content and meaning.

Recto is in faultless condition, as the stains and marks are for the original drawing of the subject. Verso, you can see some very slightly rippling, as Dine is notoriously hard with is drawing, but this is a natural process and is no way damaged.
