To Mrs. Merritt; " I thank you for your kind letter and regreat that you could not have heard the 'Victory Ball' last night when I conducted it at the philharmonic concert as a tribute to all the men whogave their for us. Last year I conducted it on armistice day als but privately, for a friend - it was broadcast yesterday - maybe it will become a custom. Yours truly, Ernest Schelling. Some browing. Fine.
