Paul Samuel Whiteman (1890 –1967) was an American bandleader, composer, orchestral director, and violinist. Key figure in getting interest in and acceptance of, jazz in the 1920’s by white audiences, especially in Northern and Midwest America. Introduced George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue on Feb. 12, 1924. Signed 8 x 10 in. black and white photo.
