Triptych with a view of Cerro Pedernal ( Georgia O'Keeffe's favourite mountain) in Northern New Mexico. Part of an exhibition of mixed media paintings based on O'Keeffe's favourite motifs. Textured media such as plaster, resin, beeswax, texture gels, convey the physicality of the rugged landscape better than the traditional techniques go oil or acrylic. Reflective copper leaf picks out the light on reddish soil to give the painting a constantly varying appearance as light conditions change during the day and in artificial lighting.
