I took a month's trip to visit the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, Arch, and Canyonland. My mind is full of Southwestern colors, including many orange and red. After I returned home I made many canyon scenic paintings, this is one of them. I used Golden Q0R Watercolors and Chinese black ink poured on rice paper. I let the ink and watercolor merge and blend. This produced an abstract form, and this painting is strong enough to stand for itself, so I did not add any finishing touches.
