Vachel Lindsay, an American poet of the early 20th century, was known for his innovative and rhythmic style. He championed a revival of spoken word poetry, performing his works dramatically in public readings he called "The Higher Vaudeville." His poems, often rooted in American themes and folklore, explored patriotism, nature, and religious figures. Some of his most famous works include "Abraham Lincoln Walks at Midnight," "The Congo," and "The Santa Fe Trail."
