The beholder witnesses a tender moment between mother and daughter. The mother leans down, grabs her daughter's hand, with her other hand, she raises her chin gently so that she can softly kiss her cheek. There is a strong feeling of love, gratitude and pride the mother which to express through her endearing gesture. Beautiful details are seen especially in their ankle-length dresses creating a vitality out of the hard material. The bronze sculpture was cast using the age-old method of lost-wax casting and stained with a brown patina finish for preservation. It is mounted upon a black marble base with the artist Milo's signature. The artist Milo lived most of his childhood in Andalusia, Spain. Influenced by an artistic family background, he began sculpting at the age of seventeen. After apprenticing with several accomplished sculptors both in America and Spain, he began his own work focusing equally on steel and bronze.
